Long weekend ahead made me plan out a trip where the shutter could be on a move. But the lazy me came across the idea of hiking a bit too late and the hot destinations like B R hill and Coorg seems already the target places for tourist visits. So I finally pinned down on Mahabalipuram and we 3, that’s me, my bike and the camera got moving towards the destination.
Mahabalipuram (also known as Mamallapuram) is a town in Kancheepuram district in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a 7th century port city of the south Indian dynasty of the Pallavas around 60 km south from the city of Chennai inTamil Nadu. It is believed to have been named after thePallave king Mamalla.
The pictures here are not shot in optimal light condition and the crowd didn’t help me either, so spare me in that regard. Mahabalipuram is much quieter place compared to its counterpart, Pondicherry and that to me is was the best part of the journey. The place has quite a few things to visit like the Shore temple, Arjuna Penance and the Varaha cave temples.
Overall a lovely trip away from the hustle bustle of the city….
