The present generation largely associates itself with western dance and this can be observed on weekends with the city pubs all filled with young chappies tapping their feat to western music. And I am no different.
But, an opportunity to experience classical dance of Bharatanatyam just enthralled me to its beauty (in terms of dance and looks of the dancers) that I stood there for more then 2 hours.
The word “Bharatanatyam” is a derived from Bharat Muni, an Indian sage who wrote the Natya shastra (Dance) of the Indian classical dance. Clicked above are pics of some glamorous dancers and I hope I do justice to their beauty. The show was titled "Incredible india" and the audience were tourist from far away countries appreciating the dance that we hardly notice.
